"Martin and I have known Andrew, (Jenbrooke Managing Director) for many years as a close friend. We have always been impressed by his strong work ethic, his passion for the construction industry and his commitment and drive for delivering quality builds that he is proud of, which he has evidenced in his self builds. 

In October 2020 my Martin and myself began exploring the possibility of adding an extension to our property, this is not something we had any previous experience of and was particularly nervous as our budget was tight. We held an initial planning meeting with Andrew and his architect, which provided the assurance we needed to proceed. It was never in doubt that Jenbrooke would be our company of choice, as we trusted Andrew implicitly, however his expertise, guidance, advice, and assurance allayed all our nerves, the decision was made, and our journey began……………. 

We had little financial contingency available to us; therefore, we were very conscious of our budget. We need not have worried as Andrew made every effort to cost up the build with incredible, and somewhat shocking accuracy (we noted at the end as we totalled the spend!!!). He kept us well informed at all stages, liaising with us on various options, offering choices and possibilities with the build and its interior layout, to optimise our available space. 

Throughout the build he strived tirelessly to obtain the highest quality materials and identified cost efficiencies at every opportunity, (as if it were his own build). This was quite an achievement particularly in such challenging times during the onset of COVID lockdowns and supply shortages, and material costs at a premium.  

The team at Jenbrooke felt almost like members of the family by the end of the build, they were all professional, friendly and nothing was too much trouble (particularly if supplied with tea & biscuits, the odd bacon roll), and they tolerated my intermittent highs and lows (expect a few along the way, Andrew will tell you that!!) but having a team surround you who are happy to take the time to articulate the progress and what to expect next was a great help and gave us lots of reassurance…..  

Our end result is an extension which we absolutely love, and which exceeds our original brief and expectations. It's built to a very high quality, and we couldn’t be happier with it. 

To conclude our testimonial, I think the building inspectors quote at the final sign meeting off says it all " I don’t expect to find any issues if it's been designed and built by Jenbrooke!!" and indeed he didn’t!!

"I got to know Andy Pulfrey well in 2018-2019, when he was the project manager for a very substantial business development construction project that I was involved with. I was deeply impressed with the way he ran his team. Very efficient, very polite, no shouting, everyone working and pulling together. On time, on budget, and the job done to a very high standard indeed. I got to know him well over that project, and he personally helped us with technical expertise and experience learned from similar projects. He really had no need to put himself out to anything like the extent that he did.  

So when we came to having our own extension done, I asked my wife if she thought we should get some quotes and her words were "No, Andy's building it or no one is". So that was that, his company Jenbrooke Construction were on the job. Andy was a bricky back in the day and he knows his business inside out. He's got a detailed knowledge of all the trades involved in construction projects, and has a group of talented specialists that he works with. They are a great team. They are all very alike in many ways - they are all very good and very experienced in their fields, and they are all very hard working, trustworthy, amenable, likeable and polite.  

Our extension is now finished, and we are delighted with it. It was built under the pressures of the COVID pandemic, with major supply issues. It can't be easy to run a construction company when the builders' merchants have run out of cement...  

On the day we commissioned the extension Andy had the bricks and tiles ordered, sensing trouble ahead. Sure enough, the tiles were set to be delayed for months. But being well liked and respected in your trade has its perks; after a few phone calls and favours got called in, orders got swapped around, and everyone was happy.  

Both of our neighbours have asked for details of Jenbrooke construction, and both have said several times how impressed they'd been with how the lads on the site had conducted themselves. One neighbour has already booked Jenbrooke to do their extension.
